We celebrated our 53rd wedding anniversary with a return visit to Kincaid Grill. It began auspiciously when the hostess seated us at our favorite table. Waitress Felicia helped us to select our beverages, reviewed the specials, and took our order for our favorite appetizer, the Gouda fondue. The salads were crisp, fresh and imaginative. I enjoyed the much-anticipated shrimp grits while my wife chose the cioppino, replete with seafood. We were comped the freddo dessert. We left with a bag of leftovers due to the size of the portions to be enjoyed the next day. Service was beyond what could be expected. Always a pleasure to dine here.
Excellent food, beautifully prepared served. A wide variety of appetizers and entrees, very thoughtfully imagined. The Duck 2 ways was sensational and the pork chop was delicious. Highly recommend.
We read all the reviews and decided to try on our last nite in Alaska-wish we had gone elsewhere. Hostess had attitude when we walked in. We were @15 mins early for reservation and she said she couldn't seat us due to large group coming in(we were there over 2 hrs and we never saw them) We ordered gumbo as our starter-it was very good, but took over 45mins to arrive at table! Not once during that time did we see our server to inquire. Ordered shrimp and grits-tasty but Glacier Brewhouse is MUCH better. Hubs had cioppino-flavor was very gopd. Server didn't ask if we wanted dessert(which by then we would have said no) Person refilling water was very attentive
With a top TripAdvisor rating we visited the Kincaid Grill before starting off on a two week trip around Alaska and The Yukon. Our dinner was far and away the best meal in two weeks and would rank well up in our best meals anywhere list. To say it is off the beaten path would be a bit of an understatement- a little place in a strip mall near the airport. But it has an attractive semi formal ambiance- quiet and welcoming. The service, from the hostess to servers and bussers was top drawer, never hovering but always at hand. Thank you Jessica for a special evening. The wine list is sufficient to meet most needs and we enjoyed a Prosecco to start and a NZ Sauvignon Blanc that went well with everything, including our starter of oysters on the half shell which were delicious. Their gumbo and buratta salad were a tasty next course. The black cod and halibut were fresh and an excellent preparation. A surprise for our anniversary was a complementary semi freddo for desert which was a wonderful finish. The quality and value was there in all regards- the Citizens of Anchorage are lucky to have this hidden gem and visitors should find their way there. Well Done!
