The Chicken Tavern - Alvor

Recommended by our friends who live in vau they were so right. recommend the steak chop, not so much the satay chicken, to bland for my taste, but others like it. personal attention, boss mann is very interactiw with customers....Good value atmosphere for dinner. would go again.

It took 10 minutes from entering the restaurant to supply the food. chicken piri piri, reischips and salat, plus an extra darm of chips and a liter house wine. €21. great value, nice tasting eating, staff very attentive. I know it's february, but. it was busy with locals, that tells them something.

The restaurant seems to have changed the property as today's version is somehow bad. restaurant was calm, so not many guests and after the meal we realized why. we ordered grilled chicken piri-piri, but what we got was not even close. the service looked good, but tasted under mediocrity. and as one could see from pictures, all of the bun was actually two small chicken legs that were hammered to small pieces of bones, but very little meat or taste. so I recommend avoiding this place unless they want to waste their money and apatite. there are many better restaurants in alvor than this place.

Ordered a takeaway from this place and it was very good. The chicken was moist and the marinade was yummy. The portion was not very big but the taste was just gorgeous.

A straightforward cafe with out and indoors seating. Lunchtime menus offer excellent value with a main, drink and olives/ bread for under ten euros. Choices include several fish options as well as chicken. Good big glass of wine too. Not that easy to find, just...before Big Red's on the main Alvor to Portimao road. But worth finding.
