Lovett's Soul Food - Alton

All rite once again your boy is made of rounds and found a diamond in the Ruff, new place. Here we go. Awesome, very thoughtful, considering that I was from the state and was not familiar with the area. I was greeted like family. the food was brilliant words can 't press the taste factor other then mmmmmmmmmmmm and add a smile You might.. those who know me or have read my other reviews know that this place must be good, not judges by the cover of the book, but Kratique it's content. I would advise everyone to travel to the city of Alton Illinois to stop and enjoy the grill, soul food and the family atmosphere. Only the kind with a smile that only Lovett 's can give.

I was very disappointed with my order. I ordered: fried catfish, spaghetti and green collars. The greens were very delicious, but the fish was cold and the spaghetti was poured with tomato sauce from the glass. The spaghetti was placed in the same box with fish and it should have been placed in separate containers. Linguine noodles were used instead of spaghetti noodles.

Just at 12:37. The owner or worker was not prepared and seemed to hurry when I had questions first customer. He said they were deleted yesterday, so some menu items are not available. He seemed the only one. I was not impressed by the lack of customer service and options available. I don't want to go back.

Great roasted chicken at very reasonable prices. Wait for the food for a long time, so make sure that you are calling with your order. Even at the present time not dine-in.

Wasn?t going to write a review at first, but if you are not happy, it needs to be said!! So we drove over 30 miles only because of the great reviews. We ordered the Buffalo with wings dinner and catfish with wings dinner. Big mistake!! First thing was that the prices were not the same as what was listed on the menu. Waited 25 minutes and was totally disappointed. We were not able to eat in because it was too hot in the restaurant so we had to drive 30 miles back. We figured if it got cold, we could always reheat it. However, it was still warm enough that there was no need to reheat it. The Buffalo fish was super oily and not edible, the chicken wings were seasoned well but greasy. Even with the drive time going back, the fish should have still been flaky. So disappointed that we didn?t didn?t take a pic of the dinners. Maybe we came on a bad day, not sure, but won?t be going back!
