Do not miss this! This is a very special diamond of a place . The owner Michel is a very fantastic warm person who will make you feel very welcome as in his home kind of way. Music has a big place in this cosy place that is soo beautifully decorated with perfect style were every object is carefullly picked out to match and give the ambiance a very delicat thoughtful outlook. You fall in love with the feeling of the place and the food is fantastic. If you want to come to a genuine place with really really good food , beautiful music , candlelights and beautiful setting and a homy kind of feeling but still stylish , luxurious,decorated and you can sit and really have a very rememeberable evening with Michel taking care of and hosting youre beautiful evening making it youre best and also there might be livemusic if youre lucky which happens some evenings .. if you want really good food, perfect ambience, warm good homy feeling , perfect personal but perfect professionell service, good drinks , maybe just a drink in the beautiful bar , meeting new people that might happen in the bar and also meet arka the parrot who lives in the restaurant .... you need too take your evening to La buena vida .., and you will return .. cause it is that fabolous: . While strolling in the streets of Altea, we came by chance to the Buena Vida. and what a surprise, a really nice, warm welcome! an atmosphere, a warm decoration! and the meal very good, fine, tasty! an excellent address!!!

My family were ambling about the streets of the old town in Altea, hoping to chance upon a lovely restaurant for dinner, when the music spilling out onto the streets lured us to La Buena Vida. We had a scrumptious meal and the service was excellent. Paper and pens were provided for our 6 and 7yo and recommendations from the menu given. The 1950 's Mediterranean glamour decor created a lovely ambience, as did the two balcony tables with lovely views of Altea. Michel, the owner/host, provided interesting information about his newly opened restaurant, inspiration for the menu and how he created the 'mood ' of the establishment. If we find ourselves back in Altea, we will definitely visit again. Recommended!
