Qaimaq - Almaty

Nice place to sit and have a rest. Nice surroundings a la nomads in a city. Food good but not exceptional. Quite expensive.

I thought the food was mediocre at best the avocado in my salad wasn’t ripe and the duck that I had was tough and not tender at all. The bill came out to $42 for 1 person so wasn’t cheap although I did order a full meal. I would highly suggest checking out other places. There was also no live music.

Nice decor both inside and out, and all the staff were attentive even during busy hours. Food was tasty but considering the price, it could still be improved. I recommend booking a table in advance, especially for dinner.

A wonderful Kazakh Culinary experience and setting with staff performing a Kazakh dance. Excellent food, beautifully decorated and top notch service. Strongly recommend.
