Bidrage med feedbackWe have stayed twice at the old Mill. The first time in September 23 and recently in January 24. We returned with friends having had such a fantastic time the first time round. This is a gem of a place. Only 25 minutes drive from Keswick. The bar area is cosy and welcoming with a lovely log fire. The staff are warm and engaging and the rooms beautifully appointed and exceptionally clean. Huge comfortable beds with high-quality duvets, pillows and bedding. The food and wine in the restaurant was exceptional. Overall outstanding value for money. we have recommended this place to family and friends and will definitely be back.
We stayed over with 2 friends for just one night in January and cannot fault the experience. Warm log fire waiting for us in the bar area. Excellent pint of beer and glass wine before unpacking was a must. Very friendly reception upon arrival and rooms are beautifully design, modern and fully equipped with everything you need down to the last detail Taylors coffee bags . Showers are the best had in accommodation with excellent water pressure. We all ate there in the evening and all 4 of the meals were superb, with steaks done perfectly and highly recommend the Ox Pie. Breakfast again met up to the high standards and again very welcoming and warm reception from staff in the morning. Will definitely be returning.
Service and food brilliant we stayed at the hotel so had breakfast and dined one evening. The service was exceptional all staff friendly and very welcoming. The quality of the food is fantastic and great value for money. My partner is gluten intolerant and had most of the menu to choose from. Three courses each and high quality wine! Thank you so much to the restaurant staff for making our stay so great we would highly recommend to friends and others!
The meal was small for the price there was 5 adults four had steak pie which came with a piece of pie the size of a mobile phone a small portion of mashed potato and some undercooked broccoli and cabbage my pie had a lump of fat which filled half of my pie, when l pointed this out l was told the chef would be informed, the fifth member had macaroni cheese with garlic bread dry and unappetising, we all had sweets overpriced at nearly £8 each l was unlucky l had sticky toffee pudding which had a large stone from a date in it, nearly broke my tooth, my wife asked me not to complain and Frankly after the response about my pie it really wasn't worth it, the bill with two lime and sodas and a coke and two pints £115.poor value for money.
Fantastic food and service when we visited for Sunday lunch. One little improvement I would implement if I could…..mains were brought out and there was a little wait until veggies were brought out by same server…..my son started tucking into his lamb before the veggies came out didn’t want his food to go cold. Perhaps two servers could come out simultaneously or consider use of trays so everything comes out together? This is certainly not a complaint as we all thoroughly enjoyed our food it was delicious….and all the staff were lovely. We’ll be back for a bar meal soon the bar restaurant have been fully refurbished the staff were immaculately turned out in their uniforms.
