Maryport Golf Club - Allerdale

So we didnt actually eat here like we intended to, we came here last year and the food was brilliant and tasted lovely, so we came back on a pretty bleak thursday night, there was nobody in other than the ladies committee and the barstaff. We got seated and she came to take our drinks order which came without an issue. We got menus after having to ask for them and were disappointed at how little was on the menu compared to last time we were here. Non of us wanted chips and rather boiled potatoes or a jacket pot, so we asked for this when ordering our food and said okay thats fine, she came back and said sorry the chef will only do chips as there is no other types of potato. We said we wouldnt get food then and just finish our drinks and go. The head lady then came back and said oh he said he will do a jacket potato but there will be about a 45 minute wait... 45 minutes for a jacket potato????? 5 mins in microwaves and 10 minutes in oven.. They then proceeded to slag us off as we said no saying oh they dont want food now as they wont wait for the potatos Awfully rude considering we were the only ones in there so surely they would have wanted all of the custom they could get. Wont return for a while, hopefully if we ever do come back they will have had a change of mannerisms.

This place is absolutely excellent! The food and service is totally first class I would and do recommend it to everyone

Waited over an hour for a well below average meal. It took three orders before I managed to get a meal off the menu that the chef had the ingredients in to make, and on third choice I selected the safest meal on the menu of steak pie. It came containing 80% potatoe 20% steak, and was joined on the plate by what can only be described as ill looking chips. would recommend avoiding if you want to enjoy your evening meal.

I came with a group of 11 of us for our annual Christmas lunch on Sunday. I just wanted to point out the quality of the food that we were served. It was exceptional. The whole three courses were excellent and brilliant value for money at £14.95. I have noticed a recent review noting the use of frozen Yorkshire puddings. I have to say the ones we were served were beautiful and definitely home made! We will definitely be booking for next year!
