Lodore Falls Lake View - Allerdale

What a stunning location! We have visited this hotel several times in the past and were excited to see the recent changes they have made. In our opinion, it was already fantastic, but our experience after the renovations was truly exceptional. The new entrance is beautiful and we were welcomed with warmth and a sincere desire to take care of us. We had a fantastic meal at a table with a view of the breathtaking lake and hills. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the decor was lovely. We enjoyed our experience so much that we returned a few days later. We can't wait to visit again soon.

My experience at Lake View Restaurant has been disappointing this time. The new brasserie and menu did not impress me. The dishes seem easy to prepare, such as grilled seabream on the bone, which lacked flavor. In the past, they had monkfish and seabass with delicious sauces. The price has also increased from £60 per head to £74 per head. It seems like the restaurant has taken a fast food approach, which is disappointing.

Located within the Lodore Falls Hotel and Spa, the restaurant offers a disappointing breakfast with low-quality, flavorless ingredients. The milk jug was dirty and the majority of the staff appeared unhappy, with the exception of two friendly individuals. Overall, my experience was very unsatisfactory and I do not plan on returning.

We were staying at the Lodore Falls hotel for a birthday trip for my partner and ate at the restaurant for one evening meal and 2 breakfasts. We thought the food was outstanding. I had the scallops with crispy pork belly and red wine jus big juicy scallops and tasted incredible. Other half had the ham hock terrine which he really enjoyed (even if a bit jealous of mine! . For mains we both had the flat iron steak wow the best steak we’ve had in a very long time. They were both cooked perfectly charred on the outside and lovely and blushing pink through the middle. All the accompaniments (tomato, mushroom, chips were to the same high standard and the peppercorn sauce was perfect. The kind of meal you eat with a smile on your face and you don’t want to be over! We had a bottle of the Argentinian Malbec, delicious. We were both very full at this point but couldn’t resist the sticky toffee pudding to share. In addition to the food being awesome, the service here is really top class. Special mention to Maddy who made sure we were looked after and Daisy who did very well and what was I think her first night on the job! We had mentioned to Maddy that it was my partners birthday the following day the reason for our trip. When they bought the dessert out they had put a candle in and sang happy birthday to him. Maddy also remembered and wished him happy birthday the following morning at breakfast she really is a star.

Dog constantly barking in room next to us- will never return. Am surprised that such a high quality hotel fails to monitor the situation.
