Greenhill - Allerdale

We came here for the Sunday dinner, 3 course meal at a set price, food was delicious and very well presented, staff were excellent and looked after us all.

I came here for a meeting and decided to have lunch. The menu had a great selection, and I chose the club sandwich with chips. The meal was very filling with high-quality ingredients like thick-cut bacon and fresh salads in a generous portion. This restaurant is a great choice for lunch.

For dinner, we dined in the lounge and were blown away by the fillet steak and roast duck. The duck had a perfectly crispy skin and was incredibly succulent, with a delicious sauce that made it the best duck we had eaten in years. The portions were generous and reasonably priced. The French Malbec we chose was exceptional and well-priced - we even ordered a second bottle! The desserts were also mouthwatering. The service was attentive and friendly, making for a lovely and relaxing evening. We couldn't fault a thing. Breakfast was served in the beautiful dining room and once again, we were impressed with the full English and eggs Benedict with bacon and spinach. The dishes were delicious, served hot, and with a smile. We highly recommend this small, intimate hotel for couples and small groups of friends or family. We can't wait to return!

There are very few places to eat in the area especially Monday Thursday so when a lady at our accommodation suggested the hotel we booked ourselves in. Its best to make a reservation before you go as on one night they has no tables free. The staff were very good and the food was just as good. The portion sizes are large. I ordered the steak and ale pie with chips and vegetables as peer the menu. I could have had either one or the other and struggled to eat the entire food. Also great value for money and would recommend this venue to anyone in the area.
