Bidrage med feedbackWe were very impressed by the facility in the dining room. the employees who served us were members of the family of owners. the meal was very well presented and not only filling, but very tasty. diners come from some distance to enjoy the ambiente and eat.
Eating here was amazing! Best German Austrian I ever had! service was great! did not really want to go!
My husband and I have been visiting this resort for many years, starting with our honeymoon 45 years ago. We often dine at the evening buffet in the smaller building or at the Buttermilk Lodge. Last summer and again this year, we tried the more formal dining room with two other couples who are regular visitors. This time, we all ordered the roasted meats, either veal or beef, with spatzle or potatoes, mushroom gravy, and cranberry relish. The salads were large and fresh, with a delicious house dressing. Everything was tasty, but during our meal, the table next to us celebrated a birthday and a cake with candles was brought out, emitting an unpleasant smell. Luckily, we were seated next to a window and could open it for fresh air. Sylvia and Armand clearly prioritize quality, but I suspect they may use some chemicals in their cooking that emit strong odors. The portions were large, and my dish had two generous pieces of meat. I had plenty of leftovers for the next day. In a town with many Italian restaurants, the Salzburger Hof offers a unique and refreshing dining experience.
During my stay at Salzburger Hof, I discovered this restaurant on TripAdvisor and was pleasantly surprised. Sylvia, the daughter of the original resort owner, and her partner Armondo, provided excellent service. The European dishes served were delicious, although a bit pricey, it was a culinary experience worth the cost. My dinner was $31 and Sylvia's favorite dish was $25, but with the favorable exchange rate, it was definitely worth it. I highly recommend this restaurant for a unique dining experience in this area.
We cannot make a camping trip to the northlands of Lake Superior without an (only partially) guilty escape into the welcoming refuge of The Salzburger Hof Dining Lounge. Again this summer, we were welcomed back like old friends and treated to top notch Austrian-German style...food that is authentic, fresh, bountiful and prepared with care. The year-to-year consistency of the Salzburger offerings and service is a testament to their keen focus on guests well-being and so honours the original dream that created this resort. Whether you arrive in a Tesla and wearing diamonds, or like us, in a compact car stuffed with camping gear and wearing bug bites and jeans, you will be treated equally well and served delicious, locally sourced food made with your taste buds in mind.
