I visited this venue , between Fertilia Airport and the city of Alghero, with my fiancé on the 10/04/18 for lunch. As soon as you enter Fertilia you smell history, heavy history, fascist history. In fact, during fascism this district was built by the Fascist government of Italy in the 1930s, after the draining of the marshes which covered the area. It was originally populated by immigrants from north east Italy (Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia) and by Istrian and Dalmatian exiles after the second world war. One of this families was the Sbisa` family who worked hard to establish a cafe and develop a restaurant under the gallery which is now in disrepair. I liked the atmosphere and the decor that are very different from anything local or fashionable. Entering the back of the cafe, you find a restaurant with a homely and very distinctive Dalmatian taste. Wooden spoons souvenirs from the north and the accent of the owner, I imagines as a 'turquoise fairy ' 'fata turchina '... The food cooked by one of the daughters, was the least interesting part of the experience as it lacked love and passion. An interesting experience...
We chose to have lunch on our final day, 10 April 2018, in Alghero at this restaurant before making the short ride to the airport and drop the hire car off. Then front of the venue is a bar/cafe and the back is a restaurant. it is decorated with history, photos wise. We chose to have one course as we were travelling I had deep fried calamari and French fries. My partner had cheese ravioli. it was okay, nothing special. Service was pleasant enough and clean toilets. Cheap and cheerful a bill to match.
Excellent homemade tart, good cappuccino, impossible to have together a glass of gassed water, only half liter bottles, and that we are, camels? seems to be in a photo of de chirico, a metaphysical portico with the alghero gulf that from the bottom makes you the
