This may have been an off day, but the awards, pictures and reviews had us expecting great things. Staff were really friendly and attentive. Menu reads well and lots of choice even for a Sunday lunch like we had today. Sadly the food was mediocre, not very warm, and quite bland. Maybe it was the 4pm time and being in between main service times, but the food felt like it had been sitting for some time. On a plus side the meat (I had the trio) was good, the potatoes and vegetables not so good. Great atmosphere in the main bar and looked to be a a well liked cosy village pub for a drink or two. Nice service, nice food, tho the beef Wellington is more of a stewing steak than a fillet (which it states to be fair) it was presented well and had nice flavours. Would eat here again.
