O Malho - Alcanena

Excellent food and service. Attention for gluten allergy was impressive. Nice ambient. Best in the region.

We made our visit to Malho Restaurante located on EN 365 in the small village of Malhou, Alcanena on the recommendation of friends. The restaurant has been in service since 1994. We arrived for a Friday evening dinner and found the large place, well decorated but was quite empty. Several other individuals came in after we did. Our food selections was a mixed grill of meats, fried skate fish and Arroz de Miscaros Selvagens com presunto (Rice with wild mushrooms and prosciutto). The rice was excellent, the food average. The wine selection was a Castelo D'Alva Vinhas Velhas 2014, an excellent choice, made with Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca e Tinta Roriz. The service was good.

This was an incredible lunch. We ordered Corvina no tacho corvina filet. They included a salad and several starters. They charged us for all the starters, though.

Best service duck in the whole of Portugal!!!
