Bidrage med feedbackWe went to satisfy our craving for Authentic South Indian Thali. Have been to this restaurant in the past for dosa. Thali was a-okay, wasn’t flavourful, just edible. Too much rice and very little side dishes with vegetables. There are so many options they can have for some really authentic food, but they had chickpea’s just mixed with desiccated coconut. The potato side dish was just basic. Daal Sambaar had no vegetables or at least drumsticks. The ladysfinger curry had maybe 2 tiny pieces of the vegetable. Paratha was the size of my palm and no layers at all.We also ordered Bisi Bele Bath, again was good but wouldn’t crave it.Disappointed overall. We went again for breakfast a few weeks later. Their dosas were really good. The vada was doughy, dense, undercooked inside, oily. The idili was dense.
My family and I made a visit from Virginia to Madhura with our cousins and we had an amazing meal! The parotta plate was so good it felt like I was back in Madurai. My uncle is still making fun of how fast I gobbled up my food. The owners are so welcoming as well. Go here if you want a taste of home :
Went here on a weekday lunch. Not very crowded and had no problem being seated for 2. Had ordered the Tiffin combo and Biryani combo (swapped the pop with a tea and was charged a little over a dollar as pop is lesser than tea and no regrets with this decision).Being a south Indian, I have to admit this is one of the best places in Toronto that serves authentic south Indian sambhar and coconut chutney. I have only had chutney served very cold and is such a put off for me, but this place was different. The flavors on point and relished every bite. The vada is extremely crisp on the outside and soft on the inside with perfect taste. The Biryani combo tasted good too. Had ordered pakoda (cannot tell how good this tasted, crispy max) for the appetizer and gobi Manchurian for the gravy. The rice was not very masaledar and tasted more like brinji than biryani for me (tasted very good, but didn't give me biryani feels). The tea was so fresh and flavorful and really felt like a perfect end to our meal. The staff was extremely warm and friendly in her service and meticulous with instructions.Vegetarian options: Vegetarian restaurant
Love all the Indian vegetarian food options available on the menu.We have ordered and loved: the gluten free dosa the paper dosa the masala dosa the onion bhaji the idli the filter coffee the sheera with puri (they need to make this a dish)Service has always been attentive, helpful and quick. We have never had to wait very long for a table but on busy weekends and certain holidays they can get quite packed. Food came out at a quick pace which was a nice surprise even though they were quite busy the first time we visited. We have been back once more since. The restaurant could use a facelift but when the food satisfies that south Indian food craving you don't pay much attention to it.This is a vegetarian restaurant and makes for a good meal when you have had too much meat in your diet!Worth a stop in on your journey through Indian foods in Ajax, ON.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free dosa is available
