Ginza Miyako Japanese Restaurant

After receiving recommendations from this website, we decided to dine at Boxing Day. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing. The cost of the meal was high and the service was subpar. The dinner took an excessive amount of time, lasting 3 hours. Additionally, we missed out on a few dishes that still appeared on the bill. The waiters displayed racist behavior, particularly towards Western patrons. Despite being Asian customers, our requests for ordering assistance were ignored. This level of racism was unexpected, especially for someone who has lived in Australia for their entire life. Overall, the food was also of poor quality.

The service was poor, and unfortunately, the food did not make up for it. The sashimi had raw shrimp and tuna with unappetizing colors. The menu was also very limited. Overall, it was not worth the price. I do not recommend this restaurant.

I made a reservation for my partner's birthday, but unfortunately, the staff did not acknowledge the occasion. The service was unfriendly and the prices were high for the quality of food we received. We ordered a small sushi nigiri boat for $40, which only had 8 pieces and was disappointing. The mains we ordered, salmon and Scotch fillet, were around $60 each and were average at best. The restaurant did not offer rice with our meals, which is unusual for a Japanese restaurant. Overall, it was not a great experience and not what we were expecting from a supposed Japanese restaurant.

We ordered the 8-course menu was disappointed with the food. The sea red tuna was precooked so it was cold-proof. There were noodles with Broth Scollops. Scollops were beautiful, but the noodles with broth were cold.... Steak was chewing, fat has a strange taste. Online the 8 course pictures look fantastic. We haven't experienced that. I gave the stars to the staff. Loved the traditional environment. However, the staff did not speak very well English, so no idea of what we got in the set menu. You said it was the cooking choice.

A good experience, well located in the city and boasting good service. The menu was extensive, offering good quality Japanese Cuisine.
