This small Japanese restaurant is popular among local office workers during lunch hours, particularly between 12 and 1pm. It is located on the south-west corner of Hindmarsh Square, across from a park. If the restaurant is full and the weather is nice, customers can enjoy their meal in the park. It is recommended to avoid peak lunch times if dining inside. The service is fast, with prepared sushi rolls being a popular choice displayed in a glass box at the counter for around $2.50 each. The staff may offer to make more of a certain item if it runs out. A friend recommended this place to me and mentioned the food was good and affordable, with quick service. I agree with the recommendation as there may not be much atmosphere, but the food is tasty, served quickly, and reasonably priced.
It was great food and friendly service, food was of high stander ed and over all experience was nice!
This is a small, Japanese restaurant that has a few indoor tables, but mainly caters to the take-away lunch orders of local office workers. It seems to be at it's busiest between 12 noon and 1PM. It's located on the South West corner of Hindmarsh Square, with the park on the opposite side of the road. If you're not in a rush, there aren't any seats left in the restaurant and the weather is nice, it can be nice to eat lunch in the park. If you specifically want to sit indoors at one of the tables or at the bench, I'd suggest avoiding the peak lunch period.Service is very fast and the pre-prepared rolls seems to be the most popular items on the menu. They're displayed in a glass case, at the counter. The rolls are good value, in my opinion, at around $2.50 each. I've heard the staff offer to make more of a particular item if they'd run out. This site was recommended to me by a friend, who said they had good food at cheap prices. They added that we could be in and out the door in a minute. I agree with that recommendation. There's no real "atmosphere" to speak of, but the food is good, is provided very quickly and doesn't cost much at all.
Itami is set up like a conventional bakery, although it is most definitely a sushi store.
