Bidrage med feedbackWe were a party of four of which 3 work in hospitality. This is a great find if you're wondering how bad the service can be in Sicily. Unnecessary unpleasantness, plates being thrown from afar, no effort whatsoever to understand you even though we speak basic Italian. Santa Tecla is a lovely village with little restaurant options and the amount of locals eating there is what attracted us. It was somehow comforting seeing it wasn't only the tourists being treated badly. The cuisine is mediocre at best except for the divine Chef's special which is a spaghetti con frutti di mare. To be avoided unless you're into masochism. Oh, and Covid-19 does not exist in this restaurant.
Excellent fresh fish. Huge Antipasti selection. Would definitely recommend the grilled fish and lemon sorbet.
Someone recommended Da Lorenzo to me a while ago and on Friday I got the opportunity to come for a pre-birthday lunch! Antipasti di mare and a shared plate of spaghetti al nero di seppia. Both were delicious! Finished with a refreshing mandarin sorbet at the end. Beautiful location right on the waterfront, attentive waiting staff, fabulous food and very reasonably priced. Can't ask for much more. I will be back, I promise! Grazie!
Our third time in Sicily and this first lunch on arrival as recommended by a local airbnb host proves to be one of our memorable meals in Italy over the years. It has all the right ingredients and setting direct access to volcanic rock pools (right under! which served as the perfect playground for my children! Not much English and fussing around because they simply know what to showcase from the fresh catch in kitchen. Honestly, for some reason, we didn 't even ask for the menu!! The only white wine we tried Isola, is more than outstanding to accompany the smorgasbord of antipasti which included polpo (simple yet so good!! fried fish, local fish with swordfish texture? and crispy shrimps, plus the generous portion of Cozze (mussels with bread so good my kids devoured all in the basket , Riso Nero (worth waiting for 45 mins as it 's specially prepared on demand and we have at least 5 starters to keep us well occupied ; and even the lip smacking 'kids ' Penne Pomodoro is way above the usual fare we 'd go for in a recommended seafood restaurant. Husband very pleased with the truly outstanding espresso that arrived with a very reasonable bill at €80. We were so engaged in our food and serving our hungry kids at the table and in between.. rock pool visits we haven 't got any other photos to share Will return for a second time when we check out from Stazzo next weekend..
Before the block we went with a certain frequency in this place and recently fortunately we returned with great pleasure. the location is very pleasant, a terrace on the sea, what to say! the fish always fresh. definitely from what I read back to the review page, it is not typical that bring you the menu, but this does not exclude that food is good and that there is no care of the customer. who read these reviews must have clear that if you go to this place is because you know that you eat well and with what offers local fishing, useless that you expect seafood that is not there because otherwise it would be decongelato. if you go to busy times there is that to satisfy everyone maybe not return every two seconds to ask how it goes. food is an experience and how it varies with the day, with the people you meet, with the food that is there. Sometimes you find fresh sea urchin or freshly born pancakes, the fish is surprised. who is Sicilian or not, goes with the open mind and will see that he will remain happy... and we will return with pleasure.
