A very good fish restaurant with several unique offers. You can use the basic grilled fish, oysters, ceviche. But if you want to venture out of your comfort zone, try some of the unique foods. These could be “almeja chocolata” or some excellent lobster tacos. There are also some “jaiba tostadas” (soft shell crab).
As you may imagine after a full day of beach and swimming we were tired. We try a couple of restaurants in the La Isla mall just to find out they close at 10 at least in Thursday) so we walk to la trainera...and receive a warm welcome form the hostage and very nice actitude from our waitress. I ask a Sinaloa style shrimps aguachile serrano) that was ok but nothing more: It will be more easily to remember for the warm of the attitude that for the food.
I belive this place to be one of the best places to get the raw material for good seafood. I think they could do better with the preparation. None the less it is still good and would definitly recomend it for lunch. They close a...little bit early and it lacks a night ambiance.
Go to this restaurant thru her fishing business, you can see and know the fish you will eat FRESH!!! The ambience is casual, with a touch of sophistication. We love the little clothes stand like a pocketbook hanger that is brought to every table. The waiters are knowledgeable and helpful, so you know exactly what you will eat. Don't come to eat in this restaurant when you're in a hurry. The atmosphere is very cold. The food is prepared for the specifications of each diner, so you must be patient to wait for the delicacies. You get chips and a delicious dip to nibble during waiting. We ate here our last time in Acapulco, three years ago. We loved it so much this time that we ate here 2 of our 7 nights in Acapulco. The manager who speaks fluently many languages is extremely friendly. He made us feel we eat Sunday dinner in his house! You can't feel more comfortable than that! Our second dinner was on my partner's birthday. I didn't ask, but they came with a huge piece of cake, on a decorated plate, singing with a candle and all waiters!!! It was a really WONDERFUL experience!!! And between us we have lived all our lives on the east and west coasts of the USA! We would be hard pressed to also find the most elegant seafood restaurants, prepared with fish as delicious as it is cooked in La Trainera!!! For those of you who care about your safety while in Acapulco... the shopping center of La Isla humiliates with people until midnight. Security is both visible and invisible. It is a beautiful outdoor marble, even only window shop in.
