Zé Bǐng Chá Wū - 香南市

This sweet red bean rice cake is occasionally craved by people of all ages, from children to the elderly. It has become quite popular recently, with even being sold at Sunshine City.

I caught a whiff of the fishy smell, but even as someone who doesn't like it, I was able to eat it without a problem. The red bean paste wasn't too sweet, and the mochi was soft.

Also known as Tenyu-yama's mochi (I always say that...). When I go play in the eastern part of Kochi Prefecture, this is a dish I want to eat. The mochi here is soft and the anko is smooth and clean. There's a hint of refreshingness, maybe a little bit of citrus? Even if you don't like citrus, it's still delicious. The shop is located to the left just before the entrance of the tunnel past the Yasui Park (if coming from the west). Inside, the setting is simple and the menu consists of only one item, a pack of 10 for 900 yen. So you can purchase without much of a wait. In the past, I had a soft and big impression, but now it seems smaller, maybe because I've aged. Well, it's still delicious. I wish there were packs of 5 for a more casual snack, or even single items for sale.

手結の餠。懐かしい。 小さい時から祖母の家に行くついでによく寄っていました。道が新しくなってからはなぜか寄る機会もありませんでしたが。 今日は祖母の初盆。久しぶりに寄らせていただきました。 お店の雰囲気も変わらず、お餅も相変わらず美味しい。 でも昔はもっとニッキの味が濃かったような。ニッキは苦手なのに、不思議とここのは食べられる。むしろ好き。 出来たてだから本当に柔らかくて美味しい。 祖母も天国で喜んでいそうです。 また寄らせていただきます。

お店の名前より「手結の餅」で有名なお店。 ニッキの香りがする柔らかいこしあんが入ってるお餅です。 久しぶりに買いに行くとPayPayやカード等で支払いができるようになってました。 最近では高知市内の一部のローソン等でも売ってます。
