Our experience at this restaurant was extremely disappointing. They had no record of our OpenTable booking and did not recognize the booking confirmation I had printed out. There were no other guests in the restaurant until just half an hour before we left. Out of the four of us, only two enjoyed their meals. Two orders of the same fish dish resulted in one being hot and the other cold. When we complained about the cold fish, we were told it was served with salad. However, the other person who had salad received theirs hot. Additionally, a chicken dish was brought to our table instead of the duck we had ordered. Upon receiving the duck, we found it was greasy and refused to pay for it. The restaurant removed the duck and half the fish price from our bill. When we left, our friends were still waiting for their starters. We were not offered any desserts, coffee, or tea and the waitress was nowhere to be found. We believe the restaurant's website does not accurately reflect the ambiance or quality of the food. We suspected that the restaurant may have changed ownership. The lack of creativity and subtle flavors in both presentation and food left much to be desired. With so many other wonderful restaurants in Knutsford that are not on OpenTable, we recommend exploring other dining options.

There were no other guests in the restaurant until a couple arrived just half an hour before we left. Out of the four of us who had lunch, only two enjoyed their food. We ordered two portions of fish, the same dish, but one was hot and the other cold. When we complained about the cold fish, we were told it was because it was served with salad on top. However, the other portion with salad was hot. Additionally, a chicken dish was mistakenly delivered instead of duck, with the explanation that they only served breast meat. The duck that was eventually brought to us was mostly gelatinous skin, so we refused to pay for it. They removed the duck dish from the bill and offered a discount for the fish. As we left, the other couple was still waiting for their starter. We were not offered dessert, and there were none listed on the menu, nor were we offered coffee or tea as our waitress had disappeared. Overall, we felt that the restaurant did not live up to the expectations set by their website in terms of ambience and food quality. We speculated whether there had been a change in ownership, as there was none of the creativity or subtle flavors we had anticipated. In Knutsford, there are many other beautiful restaurants not listed on Opentable that we would recommend trying instead.
