Bidrage med feedbackMy wife likes this restaurant and I'm going for her. I'm not a fan. we went before two weeks and I ordered the huh and was quite surprised that what I got back was not really real huh, but in the did that fake 20%...compressed meat protein look like the cheap replacement meat product that stores like giant tiger and no frills sold for a bag of about 12 15 pieces for $10. I have the same dinner there already a few times before, with real chicken and not with this coated fake wing. I have no problem spending $40 for dinner, but not if I don't even get the right one. so a fake piece winged, baked kartoffel and small next order do not cut it. the keg should be ashamed for cutting corners to benefit from expensive food.
My man and I visited the keg last night, because for over 15 years it is our favorite place to celebrate special occasions. for the first time in all these years the meal was not put on the legs. the loaded baked potato came cold. with a third of the loaded ingredients. barely saw an acid. we still don't know what was the beside. something dice and pink? looks like it might have been diceed. also served with broccoli. the side was also not hot next to tasteless. what happened to the beautifully prepared fresh vegetables they served? besides the always hot appetizers, the whole meal was not served hot, as it was in the past. the lobster was very good. tender and tasty and the filet was good, but not as hot as previously served. as always the service was impeccable, but this expensive, under standard meal has disappointed us and sad that we lost the restaurant that we felt was like coming home. doesn't know what happens there, but whatever it is, it's not good.
Our server dred was fantastic. really excellent at his job. everything else on this place was the worst culinary experience of my life. they advertise French doll as a speciality on their outside desk... the suppe was badly joined together and tasteless. it had blown up such a tiny amount of cheese that would have been funny if it wasn't 11.95! the main rib, ordered medium rare, came almost breathing and was such a small piece meat it saw more like a child's plate. the fried flower-charcoal-tender was so crushed in fat that we could not eat it. everything tasted terrible. it is difficult to imagine that they had a skillful or attentive talent in the kitchen. we noticed that the keg also increases their prices. a little sleep in the face, as they clearly decided to cook under par dishes with inferior ingredients and absolutely no love cooking it in the kitchen. Something tells me, dredging will soon go to fresher fields. we have.
Dined at the keg on portage avenue recently (our favorite place) at our last visit was the prime rib excellent. we ordered the 14 oz. part, medium rare, together with two baked kartoffels. perfection is the only word to describe this particular meal. on a previous one. we had the luck to have corey as our server. he adds the list for good service and attention to any request.
Spent a supper here with my husband and mother. It was a very busy place and reservations are a must. Service was amazing and attentive. Menu is extensive and very good prices. Everything was perfect. We will be back.
