Ben Florentine - Winnipeg

I went here for brunch with friends and the omelettes and eggs benedict were pretty good. Pretty busy for brunch on a weekend.

My good friend and I are regulars at B F on Kenaston. We love this restaurant, however today we were extremely disappointed with the service from our server. Mingi, did not greet us, show any sort of interest or enthusiasm when speaking to us. I asked about substituting an item, and was met with “no”. He did not offer any alternative suggestions, just said no and stared. He did not check in with us after receiving our food (which was great, as it always is! , and we had to ask other servers for water refills due to his neglectful presence at our table. Quite disappointing as we love this restaurant and always leave feeling very taken care of.

I had bacon and carmalised apple eggs Benedict and my wife had the salmon lox ones that came with home fries potatoes and fresh fruit. Our youngest had the kids s’mores crepes and our teenager had chocolate banana crepes combo plate that was huge! We ended up giving some to our youngest and still had leftovers.Everything was tasty.Service was slow but there were I on two servers for the restaurant and it went from us being one of the first people there to having people waiting to get in.The server apologized but I told her it wasn’t her fault.Also had the bowl of cappuccino and it was good. The cocoa powder on top was a nice touch.Kid-friendliness: Decent kid options. Prices were $8

Ben and Florentine’s is one of my favourite restaurants for breakfast/brunch. It is consistently very good for both food and service. The menu offers a large variety of delicious options, but I usually order the avocado toast with crumbled bacon and goat cheese or Eggs Benedict. On my most recent visit I ordered the Eggs Benedict Florentine, and it was very tasty! As per usual, a generous portion size was served hot, and the server was friendly and attentive. Overall, a great dining experience as usual! As for the atmosphere, aesthetics are fine, but it is usually packed to capacity which can make for a rather loud dining experience. I’m willing to overlook that though because the quality of the food and service is so good!

Family has been on an eggs Benny taste test this year across Manitoba and Saskatchewan. Ben and Florentine are the Manitoba Champs so far, Eggs Benny was awesome, came out hot, portions size was huge. Our server Jaclyn was super cool, and cheerful . Would go again
