Village Square - Winchester

Wonderful place for a family meal. The food was very good. The standouts are the General Taos's Shrimp (WOW) and the strawberry shortcake. Both are EXCELLENT. Repeat EXCELLENT!!! The service was very good too. We're coming back for another round of Shrimp and strawberry Shortcake.

Rockefeller oysters were good, the raw oysters were just ok. The chef special salad was good, maybe too much salad dressing. The Maryland crabcakes were excellent, filled with lots of crabmeat. Very close to the best we’ve had in Maryland. The coleslaw was bland, need some sauce. The shoestring fries were excellent. The shrimps grits was very different in a good way, just wish more grits. Plenty of shrimps the collard greens was a nice addition. Service was great. Indoor ambiance was nice. Outdoor seating looks inviting. Overall a solid 4.5 rating. They had couple specials on the menu like a ribeye steak and rack of lamb. Great location to a pay parking garage in the middle of Old Town Winchester.

The entire experience was amazing. Our hostess took into consideration where we'd prefer to sit, instead of just plopping us somewhere. Water and menus were immediately dropped off. Our server was attentive without being intrusive. All staff was well trained, polite, and personable. The food was perfection! The tomato pie appetizer made me want to eat the entire pie! The fried chicken main reminded me of my mother's homemade southern fried chicken, and the dessert was delicious. My husband had the deviled eggs as his app and raved about it. His crab quiche was “amazing” and he couldn't get enough of the peach crumble! I love that the penny mimosas and bloody Mary's are self serve. It gives you the option to customize your drink experience (and gauge your soberness ? . 10/10 best brunch this side of the mountain hands down.

The menu gave me hope and under delivered in execution. Loved the outdoor seating and service was attentive then sporadic. I really wanted to like this place. Beware they charge a 3.5% for credit card and I only noticed it after using my card. Pay attention.

Jeffrey’s service is second to none and I’ve been around. Kudos to the front of house staff for being excellent.
