Tidewater Oyster - Wilmington

We’re Ogden locals but this was our first time here and it was a wonderful experience. We will be back for sure! The food was great, the service was amazing, and it was a beautiful afternoon to sit outside and casually enjoy drinks and great seafood. Phoenix was our server and he was awesome!

Delicious!!! It absolutely hit the spot for a seafood craving. Maybe a hidden gem in Wilmington? All I know is I like that there is now a great option for my husband and I to try to get seafood without going through the downtown hassle, as this location is the complete opposition direction and makes your feel comfortable. The seafood options is big and we opted for the oysters Rockefeller and one of their steamed platter options. The oysters themselves were perfectly cooked and had the right amount of toppings. The seafood platter was huge! Definitely enough food for two. The seasoning was just right and the amount of sides they give you is a a lot!The waitress was very attentive and I like the laid back vibe from the employees. This restaurant will definitely be a norm going forward.

Came home from Calif and my friends took me here for my belated birthday. This place is great. You get a lot of food here. Service is excellent as is the food. I had the Carolina Clam Chowder soup today and it was so yummy. The flavor of the soup is perfect and the texture creamy. I could have had three bowls and been a happy camper. I also had the fried Shrimp. The hushpuppies and coleslaw that come with it is perfect. In fact, I always eat my friends coleslaw since he does not like it. On my next visit I am going to try the Cajun pasta dish. I'll report back soon.

We visited Porters Neck section of Wilmington tonight trying out a new restaurant: Tidewater Oyster Bar and decided to try their sampler oyster offering; Light house shoales, cape fear selects, topsail top stones, tide water tar heals! We then ordered dinner with hush puppies with sweet chili butter and Deb went for the blackened catfish while I ordered blackened Mahi Mahi on a bed of arugula!Everything was delicious and a nice change from all the more formal eateries! Our server Arianna was friendly and very helpful! She made our evening out a special treat!

We had the steamed oysters(a dozen each), a cup of clam chowder, a cup of house gumbo and as if that wasn't enough we got the fried clam strips as well. It was all great! The gumbo did not disappoint! Kudos to Isabella. She was great. Thanks to the kitchen as well. We will definitely be back.
