The Calico Room is a hip little upscale bar and art gallery. There is live music every night of the week, provided by the best local musicians in town. Experience live acoustic jazz piano every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Original art is displayed through out the venue. Comfortable lounge seating as well as a full traditional bar. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable in mixing exotic drinks. Wifi and open air cafe tables out front. Located in the heart of the historic district, look for the sign with the calico cat...;

I had a serious problem when I was last at the Calico while vacationing, but as soon as it was brought to the attention of the owner, prompt and appropriate corrective action was taken. This bar has great potential and excellent decor; my issues can be chalked up to poor personnel on the night in question- I would give it another shot.

Venue was great inside, sound guy was awesome, and it was on a nice stretch of street. Unfortunately the parking situation was absolutely terrible and we were threatened with towing while we were loading in and out. Bands with trailers will have an extremely difficult time getting in and out.

I cannot, for the life of me, understand the attitude of the people here. With terrible lighting, acoustics that need serious work, and a selection as small as the atmosphere feels, the Calico Room is the furthest from a place where you can feel at home. Not unless you 're part of their crowd. I have no problem with the crowd they normally attract, but if you are not a fit, they are extremely rude and disrespectful. I am a filmmaker who has tried to use this location on more than one occasion. The first time, I was assisting with a music video using the back room. They were completely inconsiderate and rushed the entire process. And now, I am working with others on a movie with a scene originally scheduled to be there. However, the owner of the place, Mary, cancelled at the last possible minute to say that she was too exhausted to open . This is a scene that includes more than 60 patrons for the audience. To cancel for such a venue as this is unbelievable, unprofessional, and downright rude. So, unless you are one of the crowd they call their usuals, don 't bother going.
