We needed an early meal and therefore booked 11:00 am on the online platform. The platform said booking was not automatic but they would check availability and send a text to confirm. They did indeed, twice. When we showed up at 11, they said the restaurant does not open for another 30 minutes. First they claimed the online system is automatic and made a mistake, but then I saw that someone actually wrote my name and the time 11:00 in their booking records by hand. So they clearly made a mistake. At this point, they could have apologised, offered us a drink and a seat while we wait for the kitchen to open. No such thing, not even a we are sorry just that we can come back in 30 minutes. Please don 't visit this place; many other establishments in Vienna offer food of similar quality, but unlike this place, have an elementary idea of service and hospitality.
Best meal in Vienna. Amazing black risotto, sole on the grill and spicy shrimp. Waiters extremely nice and attentive. I will definitely come back.
Beening just a stand on market it is briliant even yet expensive. Service friendly, quick, responsive. educated. Very good oysters, excellent scallops, shrimps good but boring. Raw starters very nice, wouldn´t do butterfish again. Mussels nice but sauce needed seasoning. Pasta for kids with squid excellent. Monkfish top fish, side dish to be forgotten. Turbot with butter, truffle and gnocchi best fish plate I had in long long time. Fish perfectly cooked, seasong just great and dose of truffle well balanced (even not been fun of truffle in general at all). Owner showed up over dinner, short polite chat, all went well. Realy nice evening with loads of fish and seafood. Regarding it costs same as Plachuta, money is well spent
You can always find a good seafood place when they offer the products as easy as possible. There is nowhere to hide if you sell fish simply grilled or salt-crusted. It must be perfectly cooked and the quality must be on site. We were met by very good employees who showed us on a table. It is not the largest space, so when a larger party arrived, they asked us kindly to move to the new arrivals. We did this and received free champagne as a thank you. So we ordered the fabulous oysters to go with the champagne. We also had the tuna fish tars, which were coarsely chopped and not mined, so that the fabulous fleshy texture of the fish remains. This kitchen knows what they're doing. The tempura and the octopus were so good and (always a good sign), there was so much care about the sides of salads and potatoes as it was about the great seafood. A brilliant kitchen brigade, cooking great ingredients with confidence and served by a good front of the house staff. Very recommended.
