Bennett's Fish Shack - Westport

Their clam chowder was very good! The grilled salmon was very tasty, but could have been more warm. It didn't taste fresh, but maybe our expectations were high seeing fresh fish being sold right across the road. It's still five stars overall from me.

Great service, nice large portions, and good atmosphere. Sitting on the deck was nice. The clam chowder was a bit bland in my opinion... Prices seemed high although portion size made up for that.

I’ll just say it. I’m so glad the place we had stopped at minutes before was out of clam chowder. We strode on down till we spotted this jewel. And wow. The clam chowder was some of the best I’ve had. Nice and creamy and packed full of flavor. The fish and chips, top notch. Haven’t had some decent fish and chips in a while and this melted in my mouth. I also have to thank the person who took our order. She asked if we wanted fried cheese curds, and saying yes was likely the best decision I’ve made in years. These aren’t your normal cheese curds. These are perfection, shaped in cubes. No other way to describe it. I dipped them in my chowder and felt a single tear drop rolling down my cheek.

Bennett's is a fish shack on the pier/main strip. This is probably the best food in town. Super quick, made to order and fresh, amazing and friendly service, and delicious food. It is on the pricier side but not by much, although the portion sizes are very big. They get extremely busy most parts of the day, but food comes out so fast you barely realize it. They allow dogs and kids inside so its a win for everyone. Couldn't recommend this more if you're in Westport near the marina.

It was packed when we went but the service was great and we got our food quickly!! I had the cod combo which came with 2 beautifully breaded pieces of cod, the most amazing clam strips I've ever had and fries. The tartar and cocktail sauce were perfect!!! My kids all had clam chowder and they loved it. Highly recommend!! But be prepared to spend a bit. My combo was 19.99. I went with my mom and my 3 kids and the bill was most 80 dollars.
