Bidrage med feedbackMy #thankyouthursday review is late but, for Pura Vita, it was worth the wait because it is also a Thanksgiving review! Truly special! We came here for the Thanksgiving Feast special. The plate contains maplewood smoked jackfruit, porcino mushroom gravy, sage apple ciabatta stuffing, roasted garlic whipped potatoes, candied Brussels sprouts, and cranberry sauce. It is vegan comfort food on a plate! So good! The Thanksgiving feast is an annual special on the menu that starts the week before Thanksgiving and is available until the day before Thanksgiving Day. (They are closed on Thanksgiving Day). The items on the plate are also available for catering. Highly suggest! For dessert we got the equally delicious and special pumpkin cheesecake. It's so moist and delicious. If I didn't know it was vegan, I wouldn't know! We had so much fun having an early Thanksgiving feast here. It's my fave foodie holiday so this was a special treat. Service is always friendly. Our server, Calvin, was the best waiter! Everything was perfect. THANK YOU PURA VITA! Thank you for bringing wonderful, delicious vegan Italian food to LA!! Thank you for having festive specials around the holidays! Thank you for always playing great music at a level where I can both enjoy the tunes and hear my neighbor. Thank you for being a wonderful upscale destination for lunch/dinner with my friends or for date night. Voted Best Italian Restaurant and Best Vegan Pizzeria (Vegnews Restaurant Awards). The Chef and owner, Tara Punzone, was also voted Chef of the Year at the Vegout Awards 2023! Located on Santa Monica Blvd. between Sweetzer and Harper. Metered parking on the street.
I had dinner here last night while in LA, and realized I've never written a review! Pura Vita is one of my favorite vegan restaurants. It's on the pricier, fancier side but I enjoy the ambience and especially the food. I've had various dishes over the years and none of them have disappointed. The service is super quick too. Make reservations!
5-6 years ago was the last time we strolled through this place. Newish vegans at the time, this is a joint my wife would regularly talk about wanting to come back whenever she had the opportunity to discuss. We live in the Bay Area and we don't frequently visit SoCal as much as we probably should. After a visit to Palm Springs, it was a given the one place we try again on the way back home is Pura Vita Ambiance is absolutely amazing, service was even more amazing. The price for the bill with a party of three, a t-shirt souvenir, and a couple of extra appetizers and a cocktail to all to the bill, wasn't as intense as you'd think it may. My wife had her ole reliable carbonara, my dad grabbed a spicy tuna melt; and I went for a breakfast calzone. We added the aranacini and mozz sticks. Carbonara wasn't hitting as hard as she said it needed more sauce. Breakfast calzone was okay, but I think that was lacking more of a saucier inside. BUT leftovers and air fried it was ten times better. The tuna melt was okay according to my meat eater, but he also ate every single bite, hmmm. I thought the aranacini was lackluster but the other two loved it and same goes for the mozz sticks which really let me down, but they both loved it. Moral of this story...Pura Vita has an intense menu and you really can't go wrong ordering literally anything. Everything sounds amazing; taste amazing. Expectations are so high for this place, and even when it lets you down on a plate...it's still SO SO GOOD.
Greek goddess salad is one of the best salads in LA. But for a wine bar/ fine dining experience, the music is often too loud. Also, the bruschetta was dry, burnt tasting not in a good way, and the warm tomatoes on it were an odd surprise for me. Still, a good place to bring anyone for a filling dinner.
Wow. Food: Took my vegan date to this place which is plant based dining. The reviews said that it wasn 't just good plant based food and that it was actually just plain good food and they were 100% accurate- good is an understatement Idk what they put in it but it was absolutely delicious and my date loved it as well. Service: really good and attentive Ambiance: So there 's two halves one with a bar and a small area with tables and next door there 's a pizzeria which I booked the reservation having never been here and me and my counterpart had the place to ourselves for some of the date. Mood lighting- overall cool atmosphere. 10/10 recommend wether you 're vegan or not
