The Copper Penny Inn - West Devon

Awful experience. Although the young woman working the bar was friendly, the beer we ordered was cloudy and had a stale taste. The food was subpar, with my game pie appearing to have been left under a hot plate for too long. Both the pie and the mashed potatoes were extremely dry, and some of the meat was burnt black. There were no vegetables served. I regret not sending it back when it arrived, as I assumed it couldn't be as bad as it turned out to be.

I wanted to leave a review after checking TripAdvisor for gluten-free options, as someone had mentioned they had them in 2022. Unfortunately, they do not offer gluten-free options besides jacket potatoes. I hope this information helps someone with dietary restrictions in the future. Despite this, it is a charming pub with very friendly and helpful staff. The food was delicious, especially for those of us who can eat gluten.

My partner and I visited this restaurant last Sunday after a long walk and chose to have a roast meal. The food was delicious and portions were generous, leaving us both feeling satisfied. They also had gluten-free options available. The staff were friendly and the farm shop on site was a nice addition. We also enjoyed the fresh milk machine they had. Overall, a great experience that I couldn't help but leave a positive review for.

Staying nearby, came in for a drink and decided to have dinner excellent steak, and fish and chips, well cooked. Good food at reasonable prices. Thanks!

Tired looking pub with friendly staff. Food was tasteless and very basic. The meat in the game pie was dry and tasteless. The chips were dry and the coleslaw was horrible.
