Whole Lotta Lounge - Wauwatosa

I'm going to go ahead and say it. Duckpin bowling is by far the superior form of bowling. No rental shoes here, no heavy balls to throw, hand set pins by a neighborhood kid, all in a relaxed atmosphere filled with the good bar appetizers. It's the perfect thing for corporate parties, family celebrations, networking events, and other more-or-less organized activities. Even the most introverted of people should have a fun time. The scoring is surprisingly done via a tablet, and is crazy simple to use. Even if you somehow mess up, you can go back and edit scores. Below the tablet are power outlets and USB outlets for anyone to use. The appetizers are good. I'm a fan of the giant pretzel and nachos, but they do offer tons of other options like rueben rolls, spinach artichoke dip, cheese curds, fried pickles, and so much more. Drinks are reasonably priced, and service is friendly. The space is unique, as every single window is a garage door that opens to the fresh air. There have been some upgrades inside since my first time here, including additional TVs. It's always a positive thing to see a place upgraded rather than just kept as it. Plus, there is plenty of parking surrounding the building and the street. I'm a fan.

Thirsty Duck is a lot of fun for anyone of any age. We went on a weeknight and only a couple lanes were occupied so we had no issue getting a lane without a reservation. I was surprised by the $30 for one hour but I suppose if there are 6 people in your group (the max number allowed on each lane , this would be a very reasonable price. Unfortunately there were only two of us so I'd look elsewhere in the future for more affordable options as a one-hour activity. The staff here are all helpful and hard-working. A few details were explained before we got started (self-scoring, tip balls, etc. , which was appreciated as we've never been here before. The lanes are nice, with the pinsetters (actual people at the end of the lanes working hard to keep the game going. About halfway through our hour, only one pinsetter remained, which was fine until another party came in. As fast as the kid was working, it would've been better to have another pinsetter. I was starting to feel bad because he was really working to keep up with the two lanes! Although the bar is in the adjoining room, I would be hesitant to make this a family event during the weekend due to the bar crowd. The lights were fun, decor was welcoming and would love to be here when they open the garage windows. We didn't get a chance to try the food but the menu looked good. I'd consider returning with a larger group of people in the future.

It's a fun place for adults and kids, or adult kids. They offer reserved lanes for celebration and a full bar along with a few craft beers on draft. Highlights of the menu are the cheese curds, nachos giant pretzel, pizza, pizza roll. Artichoke dip and chips. I wasn't to crazy about the chicken strips. The appetizer list is long enough just skip it since they were a bit over cooked on the dry side. No sauce could rehydrate them. Boo. Plenty of TV sets I believe I only saw 2 feeds during my stay but I'm sure they will adjust a tv if requested. 15/2018 Service 5 Ambiance 5 Food 4 Location 4 Value 5

If I'd come for mini bowling it'd probably be a four star experience, but for lunch it was just okay. We came across the Thirsty Duck heading home from the Milwaukee Zoo and decided to stop for a late lunch after spotting a decadent sounding brisket sandwich on the menu. Sadly, the brisket was a big let down. The menu says the brisket is house smoked, but the meat was gray and had no smoke flavor nor any discernible seasoning no salt, pepper, nothing. The cheese curds that topped it were good and the pretzel bun pillowy, but meat should really be the main draw. The pulled pork sandwich fared a little better. The same delicious pretzel bun housed perfectly crisp bacon and a good sized pile of saucy pulled pork. The pulled pork is described as slow roasted, so the missed smokiness was due to my poor reading of the menu I assumed it would be smoked like its brisket counterpart. The PBR BBQ sauce was...interesting. I can't put my finger on the predominant flavor, but it gratefully wasn't super beer y (PBR is gross, y'all). There was only a tablespoon or two of coleslaw, and more would have brought a nice balance to the earthy flavor of the sauce. The sauce wasn't my cup of tea, but this sandwich isn't a bad bet. My boyfriend also tried the pizza rolls. You get five large eggroll sized rolls stuffed with cheese, sausage, and pepperoni and a big cup of sauce to dunk them in. They looked delicious and my boyfriend loved them, but the amount of grease that came out when my boyfriend cut into one shied me away from sampling them before our car ride back. I can't eat like a college kid anymore and it's a huge bummer. There was a large party or league taking up all the bowling lanes so we didn't have a chance to add that on to our afternoon, but I'll definitely keep it in mind if we return to the zoo another day. Music was all over the place and would randomly end or start in the middle of songs. It got to the point where it was actually comical and good entertainment in addition to the various March Madness games playing on the many TVs in the bar area. I wouldn't drive all the way back to MKE to visit again, but I wouldn't be opposed to making this a stop next time we're in town.

Had a great time at a fundraising event. I had never really duck pin bowled before had no idea how much fun it could be! Short lanes, small ball but otherwise like its full sized cousin. The staff here was fantastic with friendly service, timely check ins, and fast delivery of our tap beers. The food was on par with expectations, not fantastic but everything was prepared well. Definitely recommend this for a group outing or business get together!
