Cobalt Grille - Virginia Beach

The food at this restaurant was average and overpriced. I ordered the Shrimp and Scallop Risotto, which was lukewarm and lacking in flavor. It was definitely not worth the $39 price tag. My husband ordered the fish and chips, receiving only a small piece of fish with a small portion of fries for $21. Overall, we were not impressed and may not return in the future.

Cobalt GRILLE Essen is still outstanding for the nearly 19 years we and many friends have died there on numerous occasions. The service is excellent and the atmosphere so calming and comfortable. We'll be back soon.

All I will say is that the ambiance and vibe is everything in this place. It’s very clean and a great place to have a romantic evening. BUT the food is not all that good. And o had a party reserved for 6; however, only 5 showed up(one being a child) and I was still charged gratuity. I was told it’s because the computer charged it that way. OH NO!!! I immediately disputed it and it was corrected but was disappointed that I even had to mention it. I will not be returning to this place but I say this to advise anyone that eats here to double check k your receipts.

My wife and I rarely go on dates, probably less than twelve times a year. We had visited Cobalt once before, about a year ago. Unfortunately, the shrimp we ordered as our main dish was undercooked and had to be sent back to the kitchen. When it was brought back to us, my wife had only taken one bite before we noticed that the portion was much smaller and the presentation was disappointing. Considering the $29 price tag for the dish, we were not impressed. The undercooked shrimp, the delay in getting it cooked properly, and the poor presentation really ruined our evening, so we decided to just head home.
