Chaya Modern Izakaya - Venice

Wonderful birthday dinner! the staff was so friendly and all their recommendations were on site.

Our neighboring jewelry. this visit was last Saturday evening, when a mentally ill person appeared screaming and unoriented at the top of her lungs. she spoke and screamed. the police arrived and was very patient to accompany them from the spatial areas. because of this incident, no patron has gone. the management has worked hard not to stimulate them, it was all over about 20 minutes. these are frequent incidents. will still come into this excellent restaurant.

The Japanese inspired new menu offers were a welcome change! the sushi and sashimi were fresh and tasty and the highlight of our meal was the 1.5 pfund meerbrahm, half as sashimi (sweet and buttery texture) and the other half grilled to perfection! we also loved the thun fish tares on the crispy rice bed and the grilled otopus. the special soultangsalat was crispy and fresh, but definitiw needed more dressing. all in all, a great culinary experience and especially when treating the birthday guest in our party to a free dessert!

Choae Chaya for a biz dinner. A bit noisy for that and unfortunately the quieter booths were taken when we arrived. Service was good. Could have been more attentive after we paid the check as we stayed a while. Sushi was fresh. Portions a bit skimpy.

The food and ambiance are nice. The waiter was really slow and we kept having to ask the people who deliver the prepared food to the table if they could bring us things (silverware, plates) get us our waiter so we could order more things. The drinks also took a very long time to come when we ordered them.
