Bidrage med feedbackWe visited the restaurant as part of the preparations of the Via Iberica rally with pre war cars which will be held in 2017. We met with the owner (José and he was very friendly and helpful (and speaks excellent English . The restaurant is (supposed to be the best place in Spain for Tortillas. And I must say, they where excellent, as where the calamaris and pulpo (entries . Judging by the number of guests the restaurant must also please the local population. You might consider reserving a place (not on Friday June 9, 2017 though, it is fully booked for lunch .
The food was sooooo delicious, genuinely cooked and the same prices as the boring food in for example Cedeira city centre. The staff was friendly, the location lovely! Book a table in advance if it is a Saturday or Friday :
The Puntal used to be my local wine bar restaurant when I lived in Galicia, the food, wine and service that you will find here are all from the heart of this family run business. Here you will always find some of the very best shellfish when it is in season and is delivered fresh daily, from Cockles, Razor Clams, Percebes a speciality of Galicia which in English translates to Goose Barnacle, they are very sweet and salty as you would expect coming fresh from the sea, they are normally expensive because of the way that they are collected from the rocks out in the Atlantic, which is a very dangerous occupation. Swimmer Crabs another delicacy from this part of Spain and they are just so sweet and full of meat, at other times of the year there are Calamari de ria from the local Ria (Bay),Maracho a type of shark which is very meaty,served with red peppers and French fries. Apart from that there are always the various Jamons, Salchichas, Chorizo, salads and the Puntal is also well known locally for the fresh Tortilla, there are always the Pimentos de Padron the small peppers that are deep fried, etc etc. The wine bar stocks some excellent Red Wines from Rioja, Ribero del Duero,Ribero,Albarinos, etc etc. If you wish to eat in the Restaurant during July and August you need to book, or you can sit outside al fresco but you still need to book. If you are looking to stay for a few days there are some lovely well appointed rooms above the Restaurant all en suite and it is excellent value for money and spotless. If you are travelling through Galicia and you like to eat good food and drink nice wines this is the place to stop, open for lunch and dinner. Siempre que estamos por Galicia venimos a comer aquí, nunca defrauda! Esta última vez pedimos zamburiñas, berberechos y las croquetas de queso, todo de 10. Además está en una ubicación preciosa.
Mis padres son de cedeira y nunca hemos estado para comer aquí, así que un día decidimos quitarnos la columna. ha cambiado de dueños y además de tener las cosas más típicas tienen un poco más elaborado y platos especiales. Todo lo que pedimos fue bastante rico, se ve que tratan las materias primas con afecto. el lugar es un poco lúcido, pero también lo hace acogedor. Estaremos a salvo.
