Zio Peppe - Tucson

I was excited to take my girlfriend here on date night because she loves Italian restaurants. Upon arrival we were greeted and seated friendly and appropriately,The server did her best to take care of us.I write this review in the hopes that it simply helps the restaurant improve because I am not a negative person.My girlfriend ordered the fettuccine Alfredo, and I ordered a pizza as our entrée orders. We did not order any appetizers. The pizza came out and was dropped off without my girlfriend’s entrée.During the time we were waiting for her entrée to arrive, while my pizza is already at the table for almost 10 minutes, we had our server as well as two other employees come up to our table to ask. We were still waiting on one of our entrées.It was our server who first noticed we did not receive our second entrée for quite some time. Then it was a chef on the line who came up to us to check in to see if we had received the entrée which we still had not. Then after that, we had a different server come up to our table and apologize because the table behind us had ordered similarly.The Fettuccine Alfredo was dropped off by a food runner after the pizza was almost cold . At that point we were just happy to get it on the table but we were slightly disappointed because it felt as if her dish was rushed due to it being late. the sauce really needed salt as well as more Parmesan cheese. The pizza on the other hand was fantastic.Just a little too much for us, in terms of the drama of just receiving one dish.People make mistakes, it’s life. Second time coming to this place. The first visit granted we had no reservations we were sat outside and the service was mediocre at best. This second visit was a flop. We had a 6:45 reservation and had checked in at 6:43. We were told immediately without hesitation that they were really busy and we had to wait. There was a large group also ahead of us with a reservation and had been waiting 13 minutes already to be seated. I went back and asked the server/host how much longer the wait would be at 6:48 I was then told we’re really busy and it’s gonna be like 3-5 minutes till we seat you. I’m no restaurant owner or expert but why have a reservation list then still have them wait. We waited to sit for another 10 minutes almost…. So we left. Super dissatisfied with the service and attitude given when trying to give my business.

We really enjoyed our delicious and unique dinner tonight, Zio Peppe lives up to the reputation. Brianna was our waitress and Bryice was our server both of them where attentive without being intrusive engaged in such a busy atmosphere. We really enjoyed the delicious starter Calmarrones a take on Calamari and chicharrones every single bite was so delicious!We shared the Ceasar salad and it was the perfect paring for the Bianca pizza, the crust on the Bianca was crisp and the flavors OF ricotta fennel sausage with blue oyster shrooms very delicious, next time I want to try tge Figgy Stardust. We enjoyed the Chocoflan to go.

Sitting outside, Arizona night with the most flavored detailed menu. This experience must be shared. From the corn appetizer to the birria pizza. Stunning. Birria is just the way my nana made it. Ravioli is chef’s kiss. Thank you Zio
