Bidrage med feedbackBeen here twice now... and I've only been here since 24th december! Below was my review for the xmas dinner which was my 1st meal there.. my 2nd meal today.. i highly recommend the pate and duck breast... which was cooked to perfection.. also the duo salmon with wasabi cream... delish... service impeccable as always... hoping for round 3 before we leave... Excellent service even before i arrived... they gave us a wonderful table on the 2nd floor.. and congratulated my parents on their 40th anniversary... ahh but I'm getting ahead of myself.. Upon arrival.. i was warmly greeted.. recognised by my facebook photo as i had made reservations via fb messenger.. welcomed like i was a regular.. so warm.. We headed upstairs (if you cant do the stairs... i recommend that you let them know) and had a nice table with a view of the chaotic traffic *lol* watching the locals with kids dressed as santa. There was only a special christmas eve menu available and it was impeccable. My parents had the chestnut soup whereas my fiance and i had the foie gras... amazeballs. Then 3 of us had the venison.. and dad had the halibut. Fine dining but pretty generous servings for all... venison was done so well... it was like cutting through butter... and the medium rare venison melted in your mouth... Then the french cheese platter... omg.. i can't even find the words.. i savoured each piece.. on the multigrain bread that im assuming was homemade... Finally.. the piece de resistance the chocolate tart... it brought back fond childhood memories for my mom... we savoured every bite.. We ended the meal feeling full enough and so satisfied. The service.. we were always checked on as were the other guests too... the staff were very attentive.. ready to explain any dish... so polite and friendly...even the chef himself checked on guests too. This place to me... balances the fine line between fine dining and family-friendly warm welcome... very hard balance to achieve but i feel the mach house has found it.. there is this wonderful sense of home in the very elegant fine dining dishes... same goes for service.. Well done to everyone at the mach house.. im so glad i left that huge tip for the staff too.. well deserved... thank you for making our first night so memorable.
Cozy and refined, The Mach House was the perfect place for me to unwind and enjoy a good meal during my first night in Ho Chi Minh City. They actually had my favorite (somewhat obscure) french cheese tucked away in the back, and the chef personally brought it out to me. Such a treat!
A little gem in the heart of HCMC. Discovered it accidentally but we were glad we did. Food is of a very high quality with subtle flavours all over the plate. The Head Chef, Frederic, has everything under total control. Highly recommended.
Six months later, I'm still thinking of the duck confit and the chocolate mousse. Hoping to go back in the next few days.
Ate the flank steak with pepper sauce and I was very happy with everything, the food, service and view. Will definitely eat there again. Also very good prices.
