Bidrage med feedbackStrongly recommend this deli -- had terrific corned beef, fresh and wonderfully tasty. Service was very prompt and friendly. Great value and will definitely be back.
The pastrami is the BEST in the city. Very spicey... Their homemade soups are hearty and plentiful. Going for the soup and sandwich lunch is an excellent choice and I often go for some pastrami to go.
Saw a reference to Sid's online and had to check it out. I went for lunch yesterday and had the 8 oz pastrami sandwich. It was delicious old style good spicy pastrami. I will be back! I just wish it was a little closer to the downtown core, but I had a good walk to work off some of the sandwich afterwards. Prices were very reasonable and I found the staff to be very friendly and talkative.
Located downtown Toronto with near by parking very difficult to get at times. Very old converted house with limited indoor seating. Menu is very ample containing many old time Deli favourites. Pastrami is extremely good. Choice of 4, 6 or 8 ounce sandwiches is a pleasant surprise. Another unusual Deli twist is the choice of four different types of knishes and four different types of latkes. All taste very good and are reminiscent of home-style cooking. Menu is value priced.
I had lunch at this place with a friend today. I'd driven past on my way to work and wanted to give it a try as there are so many good places to eat in the hood...except delis. When this one popped up a few months ago I was intrigued. I was not disappointed,we ordered smoked meat sammys, home made chicken soup and Orings. The slightly surly waitress (she was putting it on for atmosphere) suggested a combo (cheaper) and we shared a Rueben sandwich, soup, kosher pickles, cold slaw and a heaping order of onion rings. We both enjoyed our food and the people operating it. There are only six seats at tables, the rest are on benches and the place is quite tight but we had a lovely leisurely lunch. I imagine most of their business is take out. We left very happy, highly recommended.
