Bidrage med feedbackWe used to love this place. The food is great, WHEN THEY ARE OPEN. They refused to seat us at 2pm when they don?t close until 2:30pm. They recommended the take out option, but with sushi, it?s something that should be served fresh. This happened thenight before as well. They should have a sign up for customers that makes it clear you cannot be seated a half an hour beforeclosing. If they can accommodate a take out order, then food prep isn?t the problem. I?m so disappointed, I have always lovedtheir food, and menu selection. However the management doesn?t seem to care much for customer service or consistency. The hoursare posted, they should abide by them. We won?t be returning. Two times in two days is enough for me. this is my personalopinion only. I?ve worked in many restaurants, we always sat guests during our business hours. I love the food, and always tryto support local business here. Unfortunately, if you want to have lunch between 2-5:30, this is not your place. There are otheroptions, not too far away, with set business hours and an open dining room set according to their posted hours.
I?ve always been able to look past the subpar service but honestly the sushi quality has significantly decreased that it?s not worth it anymore. Between the lack of freshness, mushy rice and uneven slices (see the pictured Mexican crunch rolls), wecouldn?t finish what we ordered. Not to mention the sticky cups and complete lack of attention our table of two received fromthe servers as they mostly attended to the tables with a larger group. Which was odd because they appeared to be fully stuffed.Anyways, make the trek to the valley if you want decent service and sushi because Osaka ain?t it anymore.
Quality and consistency of their food has gone downhill in recent years. Rolls have always been a bit homely-looking, but the flavor of the oyakodon I had recently seemed like a newer, worse recipe. They seem to struggle with wait times lately. I waitedover 90 minutes to receive my ramen recently because they had too many Doordarsh orders. By the time my food arrived my wifehad already finished her meal 20 minutes prior. The main draw of the place has always been the discount price on rolls, butthey 've been adding more exceptions every day. If the wife didn 't have fond memories of the place, I 'd stop visiting at all.
Love the food, it's so good. A little pricey but their soups are huge for the price. The only issue is normally the soup cooks the egg but I know that in America they can't do that because our eggs are kinda not safe by world standards. So the egg waskinda chopped up in the soup. Good still.
Buyer Beware. Not customer friendly. Added their own tip. Place was empty and we were scolded for not making a reservation. They had us wait 20 minutes so the could seat us. We should have taken this as an omen and dined somewhere else. Food arrived quickly, and cold. Even the miso soup was ice cold. When the bill arrived, they tasted on their own $26 tip. I amnot opposed to tipping greater than 25% for a job well done, this was not that type of service we received today. When asked, they said ?oh, that is what we charge now.? I would say we were regulars, visiting once sometimes twice a week. I will never beback.
