Chappos Cuisine - Texarkana

My husband and I finally went to Chappos for dinner tonight. Yum!!!! I can't believe it has been here for 3 years and we are just now trying it!! My husband had Putanesca and I had the Chicken Damabiaka. It was delicious!! The food was full of flavor, plentiful and reasonably priced!! I would also like to mention the atmosphere. There was Italian music playing in the background and it was dimly lit (which I loved, because it gave it a very warm and cozy feel. Very romancing! We were greeted promptly by the waiter as we entered. He not only introduced himself, but asked us our names as well. He spoke very highly of Chappos.. so much in fact that I thought he was the owner. To my surprise, he was not. It's not often that you go to a restaurant and hear the staff raving about it. Upon speaking further with the gentleman, we learned that the staff and owner are like family. To me, that speaks volumes about an establishment. The place was very clean and well put together. You could tell that it was an older building, but they did a really nice job making it welcoming. As I stated before, the food was excellent! Living in New England for 8 years I had tasted a great deal of Authentic Italian, and this tasted pretty authentic to me!! It was really nice to eat somewhere where everything is made from scratch and evidently with compassion. Our drinks were never empty and we were well taken care of. At the end of our meal, the owner/chef came out to greet us and spoke with us a bit. What a wonderful man!! I asked him if he studied abroad because the food tasted so authentic. Although he has not, he proceeded to tell us how he became an Italian Chef. I highly recommend Chappos!!

We tried this place for the first time. I would highly recommend it. Our food was outstanding and the service was perfect. We will definitely go back

This is the real deal on Italian food!! The rolls are freshly baked and they have the best house salad dressing. The pasta dishes we ordered were amazing and my grandson had pizza that was out of this world!! The prices are reasonable and the portions are generous! I am a repeat customer and intend to stay that way!! Enjoy!!

Love it always have since the Richmond Rd days! Good wine, awesome homemade rolls and real pizza! But the Home made Raviolis to die for, and rocking service...
