The Gem Diner - Syracuse

Went for the first time on a friend’s recommendation because she’d gone years ago. Spent almost $30 per person to build a decent combo that exists on the menu of every other diner I’ve been to locally. Sausage gravy tasted like flour, hash wasn’t seasoned, brown gravy was lumpy, my friend had corned beef hash and it was undercooked. Potato pancakes tasted like funnel cakes. Service was just OK. After tip, spent $90 on the most mediocre meal I’ve had in Syracuse. Won’t be going back.

Enjoyed this place very much, took my grandmother who had not been in over 30 years and she loved it as well. The frittata topped with chili was the best!

Always great service here and good food. Great breakfast spot. Usually quick in and out.

Great food, perfectly cooked. No runny eggs or burnt pancakes here.

First time there , very satisfied will most likely return when in the area again
