The Core Swindon

Visited today with my dog as I have done once a week for the last couple of months. I like to rest have a coffee and toast before continuing my walk. Imagine my surprise when having placed my usual order for 2 brown toast with vegan butter to be told by the manager that she could not fulfil my order and that “the vegan butter was for staff use only”. I can only assume my expenditure of nearly £5 is no longer thought to be good use of a table or my order is not healthy enough for their image! Unbelievable, but true. Obviously neither I or by wife will be going again.

I went here around a year ago, my experience echoing a lot of the poor reviews here; snotty service, ridiculous waiting time for simple dish on a quiet afternoon etc etc Was craving some fresh orange juice today so thought I’d tolerate the pretentiousness of the whole gig and get a take out, only to be told at the counter ‘we don’t have any oranges.. because our juices tend not to be made with them we don’t usually stock them’ Some ‘juicery’... To be fair this vegan bolthole had made some desperate attempts to diversify; a plethora of honey based products littered the shelves, behind the grubby leather sofas. You can even buy a ‘core’ branded reusable water bottle for £13.95, or some bamboo toilet paper. People claiming on here of being overpriced are deluded. The one thing in the core’s favour is the price worryingly cheap, and a non sustainable business model. This place will be gone in a year or two

Stopped for a refreshing drink on a walk. Lots to choose from and quiet friendly, helpful service. We will visit again

Food and drinks were all very good, one of the best lattes I have had in a long time, the juices are great and I enjoyed all of the food. The staff went above and beyond and overall I am very impressed and will definitely be visiting again.

My protein smoothie was beautiful! Really tasty but expensive at £6. Was nice that dogs were allowed in.
