Bidrage med feedbackAs a meat lover, trying a vegetarian restaurant is new to me. This restaurant is quite popular as I walk passing it everyday. The dosa was quite nice, paper thin, crunchy, tastes well. Service was ok too. But I still miss the dosa I had in Malaysia. Need to mention that this shop has a wide range of South Indian sweets, and the milky sweets I highly recommend, such as pistachio things and almond things, sorry, dont remember the name;)
Been coming here for many many years. I don't understand most of the menu so 9/10 times I get the paper marsala dosa - crispy pancake with yummy spiced potato filling. Occasionally I order something else but never enjoy it as much the dosa, so I'm not too adventurous here though next time I must try the pani puri. I've tried pretty much all of the sweets. Some of them are an acquired taste, my favorites are the kheer milk pudding (you get a little dish of this with the thali) and the pistachio/almond burfi made from evaporated milk & cardamon. It can be slow for your food to arrive when they're busy, so bring a book or people to chat with. I really enjoy Maya, to me it's both exotic (I'm not Indian) & familiar (I've had that dosa so often) at the same time. The customers are unpretentious & include a lot of families, always a good sign.
This place is so good! I'm not an expert in the food cultures represented here, but I love any place that offers light, crispy dosa and chewy, nutty naan with lashings of ghee. The veg curries are exceptional - the masala dosa comes with a very satisfying potato curry, and the Punjabi thali came with a spectacular potato and cauliflower, perfectly caramelised eggplant, and tangy raita. After dinner, we requested takeaways of a small amount of a couple of desserts -- next time, we'll order double. The gulab jamun in particular was pillowy and mellow in flavour, swimming in syrup. The prices are extremely reasonable and there's heaps of seating. There are beer and wine options as well as soft drinks.
This place have the best ras malai ever. Very nice environment and helpful staff. Good for family dine in or take away. Recommend you their Thali.
Maya was a very nice restaurant. I tried the chaat and idli and it was very good. The sambar had the perfect mixture of spices. I recommend this to everyone because it is not spicy.
