Bidrage med feedbackDined on a Monday evening in this charming restaurant. We were starving and went the whole hog with antipasto dishes, pasta and a main course. They serve burrata here and it is wonderful, as were the three pastas we ate and wonderful prawns as a main. We overindulged a little but has we had foregone lunch it seemed right. Each and every dish was well presented and beautifully cooked. There was a good mixture of local people and visitors on the evening we dined. We were unable to take a dessert but perhaps next time. We come to Italy to find places like this in quite remote locations but serving outstanding food. Finally service was perfect.
We stayed in Surano for a week and our host Luis booked us in to this lovely trattoria. Amazing antipasto, a feast of the local verdure. Great pasta to follow. Very good service and ambiance. Recommended.
We recently stayed in San Cassiano at Don Totu Dimora Storica (a wonderful place! and had the great pleasure of cooking and dining with chef Raffaele of La Bersagliera during a cooking class he conducts at the hotel. In addition to greatly enjoying his company, we got an opportunity to see the care and attention he brings to every detail of a dining experience, from selection of the best fresh ingredients, to the home made pasta, to dish presentation, to the creative and delicious meals he prepared. Not only was he a gracious host to us, and gracious with his local cheese and vegetable suppliers and his team (Silvia and Roberta, Silvia's delightful daughter who did a great job interpreting for us in English , but his talents extend well beyond cooking as well. It turns out the he is a trained opera singer with a wonderful voice and he entertained us with a number of classic italian opera selections. We visited his restaurant which was in the quaint village of Surrano in a charming space within an old stone building restored with antique furnishings Raffaele refinished himself and with a lovely outdoor patio and terrace. While we regret not having an opportunity to dine at La Bersagliera, we helped prepare and taste a variety of Raffaele's dishes including his fried eggplant bruschetta, turnip frites, zucchini salad, chichory salad, orchiette and macaroni with turnip greens, taglierini with pureed chick pees and trofie pomadora and can attest to their high quality and taste. We highly recommend chef Raphaele of La Bersagliera and look forward to dining there on our next trip to Salento. Grazie mille!
This restaurant recommended a family friend. cozy and well furnished place. simple dishes, but very delicious. we felt the passion and heart of those who manage, cook and serve. we were well, definitely to recommend. Thank you.
Excellent cuisine. appetizers, first and second level really high! very beautiful location immersed in the historical center. the quality service and refineries as well as of society makes all its cultural preparation transpare. to improve the wine card: a place where you eat so well should improve the offer even with more fine wines.
