Bidrage med feedbackThe last time I visited this hotel must have been 20 years ago. It was for lunch. It was dreadful. So this visit was a very big surprise in a very good way! Afternoon tea with friends …what could go wrong ? And dear Reader…the answer is nothing ! Absolutely nothing! It was amazing ! The hotel is no longer dark and poky. Glass doors make the entry light and bright. The restaurant is also bright. It was surprisingly quiet even though busy. The staff were smiley …and attentive. The tea was served in three tiers … an assortment of finger sandwiches, a mega scone each with jam and cream or cream and jam, depending on your county allegiance. An assortment of delicious vegan petit fours garnished with raspberries that tasted like raspberries! Tiny macarons as light as a feather. Cake but not huge slabs. Perfect ! And the staff were still smiling and helpful as we left, even though there was at least one other complex function going on in another part of the hotel. So yes…well earned five stars. And in the words of the song “ Lets go round again”. Would I go back? Yes. Good place for a quiet business meeting and you don’t have to have the afternoon tea ..there are other options. But it was very good indeed ! Thanks to the staff !
Excellent Sunday lunch. Well presented by friendly staff. We both had roasted fig and goats cheese as a starter followed by salmon for my wife and ribeye steak for me. All cooked to perfection. Dessert chosen was passion fruit brûlée and apple and fruit crumble. Also delicious. Wine reasonably priced Gruner Veltliner and Merlot. All in all an enjoyable time was had by both of us.
If you are visiting the historic county town of Warwick and looking for a safe haven from all this rain then you could do a lot worse than calling into the Warwick Arms Hotel for afternoon tea (Other meals are available and you don't have to wait for it to rain before you visit! . We popped in to meet up with family members and weren't disappointed at the fare on offer. A warm welcome, friendly and attentive staff and, importantly, a fabulous afternoon tea. What are you waiting for. It's a genuine treat
Tried out afternoon tea at @warwickarmshotel today. Lovely selection of sandwiches, cute sugared fruit scones, complete with cherries which is always a bonus in my book, and a generous serving of cream. The frozen packet petit fours let it down a little in my opinion a nice slice of cake would have been a better option. The young man serving us is a credit to the hotel. £15 each and no need to book we will definitely be going back
Excellent Sunday lunch. We went for The Chef’s Menu which offers choices for up to three courses. On this occasion we both had watermelon, cucumber and feta salad with mint oil for starters, salmon for my wife and roast beef for me, plum crumble for me and chocolate torte for my wife. I chose Malbec to accompany, my wife selected the Gruner Veltliner. Great value for money. A return visit will definitely be on the cards! (We were also tempted by the general menu but the Chef’s Menu was too good to miss.
