Usually visit for coffee but thought we'd try the food out. Staff insisted on making us wait by the door in the way of everyone else whilst they wiped a table. After seating us we ordered at the till and coffees and food arrived reasonably quickly. However for the price you don't get much food on your plate at all and ingredients are pretty basic, if well cooked. Over £30 for lunch and coffees for two seemed very steep to say it was nothing special and my husband left hungry. The real issue was after insisting on seating us themselves, before we'd even finished our coffees, they made us move so they could push tables together for a party of four. We will not we returning, I'm sure Bury has plenty of other places for lunch that offer a better deal and customer service.
Greeted by friendly waitress. Although very busy we felt as if they were trying to accommodate us as quickly as possible without sacrificing hygiene or politeness.Fantastic scotch egg and Portuguese tarts with lovely coffees. Will be back
We could not have had a warmer and friendlier welcome on arrival and this was backed up by amazing service throughout. We enjoyed lunch, coffee and cake. The food was delicious and the coffee was excellent. We sat in the window in comfy armchairs watching the world go by and enjoying the beautiful view of the historic abbey. We will definitely be returning
The service was really poor. The food was fine- when it came. Two sausage rolls took 24 minutes to arrive. We had to ask where there were and were told they took six minutes to do. Seven minutes later they arrived. What does that say about the service?
