Daebak Korean Bbq - Southfield

1st experience visiting Daebak with friends it was a good time by all of us. Servers were excellent, offering advice assisting with extras as needed. We had a combo meat meal (beef, pork belly, chicken) that we cooked at our table grill, it was delicious. The side dishes, kimchi 2 others were really my favorite because I love vegetables. Portions of the side dishes were a bit too small, but the servers kindly brought us more. Each person at the table got their own rice in a covered stainless steel bowl and lid, which kept it hot. The atmosphere was ok. Very loud, making it hard to hear my friends across the table, but it was a Friday evening it was packed full of happy customers. I highly recommend Daebak as my new restaurant of choice.

Came for dinner around 6:15 on a Wednesday, we had a reservation but you can see from the picture, we didn't need one. They did tell us if we didn't come for the reservation, they would charge us 45 dollars, so keep that in mind. Also most menu items were on the expensive side.Food itself was great, we got the combo for 4 even though we had 3 people and a Kimchi fried rice, and that was a perfect amount of food for us (2 male 1 female), so if you're actually 4 people, consider getting something additional. Best kimchi fried rice that we've tried around and the BBQ and dipping sauces were all delicious. Some places BBQ for you, but this place was completely hands off on that, however you get a buzzer and they respond quickly. Definitely worth visiting!

It was our first time at this restaurant, and it did not disappoint. The prices are very reasonable. We ordered the signature combo, which came with 2 beef meats and 2 pork meats, and it was delicious. The banchan (or side dishes) were super good. Our server seemed to be having a bad night, but other ones stepped up to the plate and the food made up for that. I would definitely come back.

The experience was very dysfunctional. My friend had a reservation of 10 for her birthday, and we arrived early to be seated and the hostess said we cannot be seated unless we had 6 people. I thought that was odd considering we had a reservation anyways, and I didn’t think it mattered if all the guests showed up yet. We waited in the cafe for about 15 minutes for 6 out of the 10 people to arrive so we can be seated. We went to the hostess and told her that 6 people are here, and she said we had to wait 15-20 minutes for them to clear the tables and put everything together. The hostess then told us that they’re about to close and handed us menus to look at while we’re waiting in the hall to be seated. All while this is happening people are showing up and being seated. We almost ended up leaving trying to find another restaurant, but the hostess said our table is ready.The food itself was alright I would say 5/10, unfortunately we could not cook our own food because they were about to close and what we could order was limited. We were rushed the entire time, and I felt as if we weren’t welcomed. I think it’s best to not schedule reservations towards closing time.

This place is my comfort food. Everything is so delicious. I always come here for special occasions and eat until it hurts. Definitely my favorite kbbqFood: 5/5
