Bidrage med feedbackAbsolutely fantastic place to stay. Sarah and the team are so friendly and helpful. The hotel is so clean, the breakfast is top class and the afternoon cream tea is an amazing touch. Can't wait to be back.
2nd time this year at bridge house and if i was staying in grasmere again this year this would be my first port of call.slightly dated with the odd squeaky floorboard buts thats character, the staff are extremely friendly even when you bump in to them in the village, not had an evening meal there as we go out with the dog,but at breakfast they set us a table in the lounge there are plenty options and the breakfast are perfectly cooked and presented,if you like it quiet but in the centre of Grasmere look no further
We’ve stayed 3 nights here at bridge hotel. What you see on the pictures doesn’t represents the actual condition of the building.Positive is that all staff is very helpful and friendly. So from service no complaints.Nevertheless old smelly carpets make the air smell, everywhere is fluffy and dusty..Showers and baths are too old that the mixer tab is only giving “boiling”water and no pressure on water with a weak flow which makes impossible to take a shower. There isn’t any hanger to hang toilet papers and bathroom is carpeted!!.Old radiators are on always and whole building is airless and unnecessarily hot. It is so loud in the evening that any movement on the staircases or even in the bathrooms can be heard.Location is good but it doesn’t feel like you’ve stayed in an hotel at all.
This was our first stay at Bridge House Hotel in Grasmere we usually stay at The Daffodil (fabulous), just up the road, but couldn't get in at the sort of rate we wanted, due to only booking a couple of weeks ago. Bridge House Hotel, located on the main approach road into Grasmere from Ambleside is in a great location. Everything within the village, only a few minutes walk. We had booked a four night bed breakfat stay, via booking.com and checked in on Sunday evening. We were greeted by Jane, the Hotel Manager. What a lovely, friendly and warm welcome. Jane, along with the other hard working Hotel staff were always polite and helpful during our stay. Our double room was located on the second floor and had a lovely, comfortable bed with soft white bed linen. During our stay, Jane made us aware that the Bridge House Hotel had been purchased in November 2016 and is due for complete renovation at the end of the current season. Although the hotel is very clean and well maintained, it is looking a bit tired in places, by comparison with some other 4* establishments and having seen the high standard of the decoration at its sister, The Inn At Grasmere, next year at The Bridge House should be pretty special. One evening, we enjoyed a wonderful evening meal in the restaurant the fish chips and mushroom burger were both superb. We also made use of the complimentary pool and spa facilities at The Inn. The cooked breakfast was prepared to order and was always really nice the fried eggs were spot on ! Grasmere, just off the main A591 road between Windermere and Keswick, so is the perfect location for exploring the mountains or the more low level tarns, lakes and walks.
Stayed two nights had a superior room the only thing superior was the four poster bed and the size of the room. Breakfast was a let down everything was so greasy.the cups and plates didn't look that clean and noticed a cup under the cereal table which was still there next day. Staff were very friend and polite, but seemed to cool off a little when we ask them to change our breakfast.
