Bidrage med feedbackGreat selection of beers. My favorite was the Salt and Sea! They actually ran out of it on tap the day we were there, and then they offered can pours of it. It was Father's Day weekend and the bartender was so nice and gave the dads a free one. It's nice and big inside and they have lots of outdoor picnic tables. They also had a giant connect four game outside. There was live music the afternoon we visited Aaron Hehl and John Dutton they played a great set! It was such a nice day out so we opted to stay for dinner and order delivery from G&G Pizzeria nearby.
Nice selection and variety of beers! Bartenders were super friendly and we enjoy the warehouse type ambiance.
If one is a true beer lover in New Jersey, one must pay tribute to the granddaddy of all NJ breweries: Flying Fish. There has been an explosion of local breweries opening in the last ten years here in the Garden State, but Flying Fish paved the way for every single one of them by opening up way back in 1995 when it only sold beers online. A year later it opened the doors of its first physical location, and the rest is history. You've likely seen their beers in your local liquor store. Maybe you've sampled their excellent Exit Series (though they don't seem to make these anymore? . But it's nice to make the pilgrimage to their taproom and brewery in Somerdale. My girlfriend and I stopped by yesterday afternoon. We were there from about 3 4:30 and it was pretty dead besides someone's 60th birthday party going on. The taproom is pretty big with lots of space to move around. A lot of space is dedicated to merchandise, much of which I've never seen at other breweries like cycling Jerseys and really nice winter coats. The tap list was surprisingly small given the size of the brewery; only 12 beers on tap, many of which were their normal mainstays such as the Abbey Dubbel and the Jersey Juice. I love coming to breweries to see what specialty beers they have on offer that aren't in liquor stores, and I really enjoyed the two specialty beers Cranberry Braggot and the Dirt Cake pastry stout both very strong in ABV but also in complex flavors. I've never had anything quite like these two beers before and definitely recommend them. The women tending bar were very friendly and welcoming. Definitely put this brewery on your list to visit. No tour of NJ breweries is complete without it!
Love Flying Fish. They are the only local brewery that sells kegs at a reasonable price. Abbey Dubbel for under $70. One of the best local beers and the price is great. All of the others, either don't sell or inflate the prices. FFF. Flying Fish Forever. On my way now to get a keg.
I didn 't even want to give a rating because the 3 times I have tried to go here it has been closed for a private event. I 've tried to go here because I do hear great things but there is no communication on whether or not they are closed for private events on the website or their social medias. Kind of crazy that they can 't post a simple story on Instagram saying Closed for private event but just have a chalk board at the front door letting you know. They really need to look into hiring a better social media handler because driving 20-30 minutes just to find out your nights plans have to be completely revised sucks. We 'll just stick to Double Nickel and Spellbound from now on.
