Smoke Shack - Seward

HOLY SMOKES, SMOKE SHACK!!! Easily my favorite place for breakfast in Seward. I just tried the breakfast sandwich for the first time and it was INCREDIBLE! How did they make it sooooo good? I don't know... I thought for a moment about putting it down to look inside and examine what was giving it so much awesome flavor, but I couldn't stop shoveling it down my gullet. I've also had their B&G, Burritos, and my all time favorite, Carmelitas, which are breakfasty nachos. Lunch is also great! Spicy pork is my go to. Can't say enough about this local favorite! -Clay

Great ham burrito and fast. Stop here after the train ride from Anchorage. The girl was friendly. Why 100 characters? There. 100.

Delicious! We ate lunch here after a kayaking excursion, and thought it was so delicious, we came back for dinner! Both meals consisted of the brisket “wrap.” It was this super interesting/delicious BBQ variety burrito where the meat, beans, and coleslaw were wrapped in a tortilla with cheese, sour cream, peppers, onions, and pickles. My husband had the turkey the first time, but said he preferred the brisket. So good! It was hard to NOT get seafood on our last day, but this was great! The lady at the counter was very friendly and we had a pleasant conversation while waiting for our food. Don’t forget your jacket, as the only seating available is outdoors!! That’s the only potential drawback, but just show up prepared. You ARE in Alaska!

I had the French toast and it was delicious, they use a recipe that tastes more home made than other restaurants. It came with eggs and bacon. The bacon was peppered and tasted great, much higher quality than regular bacon. The only issue is they only do outdoor dining. This would be fine if the weather is good, but if drizzly and windy as when I was there then not pleasant at all, the wind even picked up my plate and flung it into my jacket, I want to eat the food not wear it. I wanted to go back but didn’t because of bad weather.

Excellent, hearty breakfast before a long day of hiking. Friendly staff. There is no indoor seating, but tables outside face the harbor.
