Bidrage med feedbackI really enjoyed the atmosphere of this restaurant. The decor featured wood accents, large door handles, and windows at street level. The server was excellent and friendly, and the drinks were tasty. We kept it simple with our orders and found the portions to be on the smaller side. We decided to go with some boneless wings and fries, and in hindsight, we probably should have ordered more since there were four of us. Overall, it was a good experience. We were in the stadium area for some bar hopping, as we don't usually spend much time in that area. This bar was definitely a standout compared to the others closer to the stadiums.
I like the ambiance and style. Customer service could be improved a bit. Nothing bad happened but nothing good either. The fish and chips weren't very good. They were soggy and didn't taste fresh. It was more breading than fish. The tomato soup and grilled cheese were pretty good. The grilled cheese was toasted a bit too much. The tomato soup was extremely thick. More like sauce, but it was really good. I'd like to try some of their beverages. Might be a better place to stick to a small appetizer and beverage rather than a full meal.
My husband and I have visited The Lodge a few times since our first review. Unfortunately, our most recent visit before the Mariners game resulted in the removal of a star. We arrived at 4:45pm for a 6:10pm game and found several tables still occupied and others in need of clearing. There was no greeting at the door, just a sign that said "Sit Anywhere." After waiting for some time, we finally spotted a lone employee working behind the bar. We quickly ordered our drinks and food, as we were short on time. The food was good, with my husband enjoying his Lamb Sandwich and me liking the Grilled Fish Tacos. However, we both felt that our dishes could have used some improvements. The service was slow, possibly due to understaffing on the Holiday. We will give The Lodge another chance, but if they are not properly staffed on our next visit, we may not stay.
I used to love coming to this bar when it was Tiki Bob's and dancing on the bar. Unfortunately, they no longer allow dancing on the bar since it is now more of a regular bar and not a nightclub. However, it is still my favorite bar in all of Pioneer Square. They have good drinks with strong pours, including great call liquors like Bacardi Raspberry. The bartender was fabulous and the bar itself looks handcrafted with beautifully finished wood. There is plenty of seating, TVs everywhere, and great decor. This location is part of a chain, but it is my favorite out of all of the Lodge's locations. My only complaint is that they close early.
This isn 't the first Lodge I 've been to, nor was it the first time I 've been in this one. It 's a chill spot; usually not too crowded and the food is ok. Beer selection is above average for the neighborhood, even if it 's a little pricey: Happy Hour gets you $1 off pints. Cool... but some of your pints are $8 so it doesn 't really feel that happy to me. On this happy hour occasion my girlfriend and I had some beers and a few appetizers. The boneless wings were ok, but not noteworthy. I thought the blue cheese sauce was a little watery, tasted off, and... had no chunks! So sad. The roasted brussel sprouts were similarly ok. I found them to be sweeter than I 'd like, even though the flavor was good. The regular menu entries get pricey fast, so we didn 't spent much time looking them over. What prompted me to even log on and write this up is to warn others to be careful when calculating the tip and not to use their conveniently provided numbers on your receipt. Take a look at my photo. The math doesn 't quite add up, does it? Tip should be calculated before tax and any other fees (which I 'm fine with, kitchen staff can use some help here). I 'm calling you guys out on this. I 'll be back, no doubt. It 's a convenient location to hang out before hopping the train and it 's a pretty ok bar. See you soon!
