Hokkaido Ramen Santouka University Village

The review with this restaurant is complicated because the food looks and taste great. The ramen noodles soup approx $12.xx came with 2 pcs of Japanese BBQ Pork half a boil egg with soft egg yolk and veg. You have choice for a combo to pick fried dumpling costs few dollars more approx. $18.xx. Also, you can pick the size of the ramen regular, large or small. UW students with student pass will get free size upgrade. Another favorite food is Kangsu Curry Pork with rice taste really good. I've been there for dinner two times both feel really satisfied with the food and the service. The restaurant atmosphere is comfortable and quiet. The lights are not too bright and really good to enjoy the delicious.However, after eating the ramen I ordered, I found the urine color came out pretty like orange yellow. The first time I did not aware of it until after the second visit my spouse asked if I have orange yellow like color urine? I then started to notice I have the same issue, and the situation remains till the next afternoon back to normal. We have not eat or drink any other food except water after the visits. May be it just a coincidence?

Super awesome staff and amazing food. Would highly recommend their chashu gohan as well as the tonkatsu.Dietary restrictions: Allergy list from May 2023 is attached.

Ramen is decent. Miso ramen broth was on point, not too heavy, the eggs were perfectly soft boiled, and the noodles were great. The chashu was disappointing though and very chewy.Service and atmosphere is just okay.

I got the pork cheek ramen with kara miso soup. The pork cheeks are soft, fatty and overall really good. Each portion had 6 slices so that was a lot. Definitely on the more expensive side for ramen, so I’m giving a 4 stars instead of 5.

Honestly I'm not sure why people praise this place so well. I don't think there's anything special about it. it was overall just very average and their noodles didn't really stand out to me. The food was good but not really worth it for the price. Karaage also was just decent, I've had better in Seattle.There's always a wait but service is quick.
